We chat to Account Manager Mark Jackson to see what a typical day at Ventur looks like for him

Based in Edinburgh, he works closely with our partners ensuring their travel programmes are running efficiently and that they’re reaping the rewards of working with the experts.

WHAT MADE YOU JOIN VENTUR?

The team! I met Maggie around 12 months before joining and just knew I’d love to work with her someday. Her enthusiasm and drive really spoke to me; she’s a great leader plus it demonstrated Ventur’s personable approach with clients too, which I think is incredibly important.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE INVOLVE NOW?

Prior to Ventur, I worked closely with SMEs as well as in account management roles so it’s always been a passion of mine to ensure businesses get the most out of a service.

As Account Manager here, my role involves ensuring that our travel partners – who are based all over the UK – are receiving the best possible service and getting the most out of partnering with a travel management company.

This can include everything from bespoke reporting, presenting valuable insights depending on what a business requires to utilising our trusted relationships with suppliers to offer beneficial deals and simply, being on the other end of the phone if they want to chat through anything.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF YOUR JOB AND WHY?

Definitely getting out and about to meet with our partners – technology is great but nothing beats face to face interaction. Getting to know the people behind the business plays a huge role in successfully delivering the service they require. This, of course, differs between companies and we pride ourselves on a tailored approach.

Ultimately, our relationships with our travel partners mean we can help them make the most of working with us and having all of their travel needs in the hands of the experts. Making travel easy for them to manage is my key priority and of course, my favourite outcome.
